Meet Martin Allen
Martin Allen chairs the law firm’s Real Estate Taxation Department and concentrates his practice in local real estate taxation and litigation. Martin serves as a Special Tax Counsel to numerous municipalities. As such, Martin has tried numerous cases in the New Jersey Tax Court as well as arguing cases in New Jersey’s appellate courts and the Supreme Court of New Jersey. His practice also includes representation of lenders and other holders of distressed assets in commercial foreclosures and workouts.
Martin is currently a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court. He is an Associate Counsel to the New Jersey League of Municipalities, a member of the League’s Legislative Review Committee, and an affiliate member of the Appraisal Institute. He has been an instructor for continuing education courses in the area of real estate taxation given to the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Metro New Jersey Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, the New Jersey Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers, the Association of Municipal Assessors of New Jersey, the New Jersey League of Municipalities, the New Jersey Association of County Tax Boards and the Monmouth County Assessor’s Association.
Martin is First Vice President and General Counsel for the Rutgers University Football team’s booster club, the Rutgers Touchdown Club. Martin previously served as President of the Touchdown Club.
