Jeffrey B. Lehrer
Jeffrey Lehrer’s practice concentrates in land use law, redevelopment law, real estate law, municipal law and COAH matters.
Jeffrey began his practice representing one of New Jersey’s major real estate developers. Since the early 1990s, Jeffrey has served as the Township Attorney for many New Jersey municipalities, including Bedminster Township, Scotch Plains, Springfield and Warren Township. From 2006 to 2009, he served as Director of Law for the Township of Edison. He has also served communities in other ways. From 1990 to 2005, Jeffrey served as the Edison Township Zoning Board of Adjustment Attorney. He has served as the Planning Board Attorney for the Townships of North Brunswick, Sayreville and Old Bridge. He served as Zoning Board Attorney for the Township of Scotch Plains for several years. He has also served as a Special Counsel for Council on Affordable Housing (COAH) matters in numerous municipalities, including Howell Township, Berkley Heights Township, Stafford Township and the Borough of Manville. He has acted as Redevelopment Counsel for the Township of East Brunswick for the past three years.
Jeffrey served as Associate Counsel for the New Jersey Planning Officials. He was also an adjunct professor for Cook College, where he taught a course entitled “Development Permits Review from A to Z.”
In 2011, Jeffrey was honored by the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys with the William M. Cox Award, in recognition of excellence in land use law and exemplary service to the legal profession and to local government.
