The Police & Public Officials Liability Practice Group at DiFrancesco Bateman is experienced in the representation and defense of municipal and county governments, school districts, and other public entities and public servants in a wide range of litigation matters, including law enforcement, civil rights, employment, election, zoning, prerogative writ and litigation relating to land use issues. The attorneys provide advice and counsel to entities and their officials in the development and implementation of policies and training programs, and they advocate for municipal entities and employees in the defense of tort, contract, and employment litigation. This group provides assistance to multiple municipal entities in the investigation, review, and, if necessary, the aggressive advocacy in defense of claims against government entities and their employees.
DiFrancesco Bateman attorneys have been recognized for their effective defense of municipalities, counties, and law enforcement agencies and employees against civil rights suits. Members of the practice group include former Assistant County Prosecutors, Assistant New Jersey Attorneys General, and a former Assistant United States Attorney. Many of the members continue to provide services to multiple municipalities as their designated prosecutors. Each of the group’s members has significant daily contact with law enforcement agencies throughout the State of New Jersey.
