Firm Attorney to Participate in ICLE Seminar on Wireless Facilities in the Municipal Right-of-Way

Ed PurcellOn July 31, 2018, Edward Purcell, Esq. will be speaking at a seminar conducted by the Institute for Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) related to wireless facilities in the municipal right-of-way. In order to increase wireless capacity in our interconnected world, and to prepare for 5-G connectivity, wireless companies are seeking to place small wireless facilities in municipal rights-of-way. Like traditional macro-cell towers, the Federal Telecommunications Act plays a big part in governing how towns can treat these facilities. For the most part, these facilities are relatively unobtrusive. But, municipalities have an obligation to manage their rights-of-ways for the benefit of the public and to preserve local safety and aesthetics. And, in doing so, Towns need to be mindful of federal, and even state law, limitations. This seminar will provide that needed overview.
